After the Long Weekend

How do we all go after a long weekend, where on the Wednesday, Thursday & Friday we have crammed in 4 days work, so we can get the Monday off work on a gazetted Public Holiday.

Its rather like that in many industries, allowed to have the day off, but the same amount of volumes of work have to be pumped through.

This is the time where errors occour, lots of them. The fight to get out as early as possible, leaving the making of Ads to us, all the others around the building, trying to avoid the short straw and help.

In the wash up of these weekends, we now spend even more time than usual, cleaning up the mess thats left from ‘the others’ cutting corners to ‘get out’.

Yet, the blame for the mess seems to always stick where it least deserves to be. Where it should be, is with those who seem to have the “Teflon Coating” where nothing sticks (apart from the accolades of making the money) — Not those who Produce the product, (where, its never noticed) that again the product has been salvaged from being a pile of Poo and made it smell like a dozen roses.

What about this, a plan to maybe introduce an Annual Commercial Producers Day (seems to be one for everything else) where on this one day, we don’t get the day off work, no we get the day off taking the blame for everyone else’s mistakes… they allow us to go out for the 2 hour lunch… to be allowed to finish 10 mins early and to be looked at from the corner of the eye with scorn. (This would have to be the Music Directors Day too,) maybe just maybe (pause for dreamy like music from APRA)

Best thing just smile laugh & ask for a punching bag hung in the basement, with an array of pictures to bash at in private. 🙂
